Tinman's Teardrop Rental
We want to make camping with our camper as easy as possible for you, so you can enjoy the wonderful outdoors. We have a Chesapeake Light Craft Teardrop. It is a light weight teardrop with a unique style. This small teardrop will suit two people very well. We can include most of what you need for the galley; two burner stove (one pound propane tank included), pots and pan, dishes, cutlery. The trailer has a queen sized mattress and despite it's size most people can sit up with no issues. A roof vent to keep condensation out during cool nights. Also included is a propane lantern (one pound propane tank included), puck lights and string lights. Adapters for the stove and lantern to use with larger propane tanks are available. If you're camping in the rough, we can include a camp potty.
The trailer has a small battery, enough to run the fan for two nights and charge phones/tablets. There are four USB charge ports in the cabin and two in the galley.
The trailer has an empty weight of 600 pounds with a tongue weight of 100 pounds. It connects to a 2 inch ball hitch. Most small cars can tow this trailer with the proper hitch. A Kia Nero was used to bring the trailer out to California from Maryland. Our driver said the trailer rode very well and was easy to move around. A Class II hitch and a 4 prong plug is required. Please don’t overload more than 80% of your vehicle max weight. The trailer has a standard 4 prong plug for tail lights.

Based in Lake Forest, CA there are many places close by to head off to be around nature. We are 30 minutes from Crystal Cove State Park, Doheny State Beach and Huntington State Beach; 1.5 hours from Santiago Peak; about 2 hours to the Palomar Observatory and Big Bear Lake; and about 2.5 hours from Joshua Tree National Park.
The CLC Teardrop is one of the lightest and most unique designed teardrops available in the USA. This teardrop was built by Chesapeake Light Craft in their factory for us specifically. Our trailer is On-Road only and should not be taken off-roading for anything that requires more the 6 inch of ground clearance.
We are renting our trailer in two modes. One is the Just the trailer (includes mattress and battery), while the Glamp mode has everything you should need to head out (not including food and water). Our teardrop is not bear safe, so if you are camping in bear country follow the proper food safety. Keep nothing inside that might tempt a bear to want to look inside. Clean the gallery and surrounding area well after cooking.
